New Language Features Part 2
Beginning this month we will look at the new language features in detail: this will include features from 7708, 7709, and 7710, corresponding to WebFOCUS 820x. This includes new SET commands and enhancements to existing SETs, new simplified User Functions, FORECAST available as a COMPUTE expression, the new STRING datatype, sort performance enhancements, removal of limits, new amper variables, BYTOTAL and ACROSS enhancement, statistical python functions, HTML5 enhancements, and IF-THEN-ELSE enhancements.
Based on the DEFINE-based JOIN, McGyver technique provides solutions for difficult-to-solve requests. We will examine some more examples of this powerful technique.
Walter Blood, director of Product Management and Customer Support, is responsible for the FOCUS product on the mainframe platform and the core FOCUS engine across all Information Builders products. Walter Brengel is currently a technical director in the FOCUS Division at Information Builders. He has been working with FOCUS/WebFOCUS for 30 years. His knowledge is with advanced coding techniques and relational adapters. He has prior experience with educational, financial, and government institutions.
