Here at Information Builders, we’re excited to be in the midst of the 2017 holiday season. With Hanukkah upon us, Christmas around the corner, and our global headquarters just steps away from the famed holiday windows here in NYC; it’s a fun time indeed! While the holidays bring joy to many, this time of year can be difficult for those in need.
That’s why we’re proud to announce our involvement with several charities around the world:
  • The Shoebox Project is an organization that collects and distributes gifts in the form of Shoeboxes to women who are homeless. This year, we collected gifts from our offices around the county, and filled 30 shoeboxes for distribution to women living in NYC shelters. These shoeboxes will help enhance the self-esteem, and reduce feelings of isolation, for many homeless women in need this holiday season.
  • Our UK office worked with Operation Christmas Child - Samaritan’s Purse UK, an international relief and development organization that works through local churches in countries across Sub-Saharan Africa, Eastern Europe and Central Asia.  The UK team donated over 20 shoeboxes full of toys, books and games to boys and girls ages 1-12 years old.
  • In addition, we partnered with The Joy of Sox, an organization whose mission is to provide new socks to the homeless. Socks are the number one requested item from homeless shelter, and this charity makes its goal to ensure every homeless person in the United States has a few pairs of new socks every year. To help us in our efforts to push The Joy of Sox toward their goal, Socksmith has chipped in by donating 300 pairs of socks!
  • Our Western area SDS team worked with the organization, Creating Better Communities to provide food to the homeless in Venice Beach, California. The team spent the day preparing food, and then delivered the meals to dozens of homeless.
  • Lastly, since 1998, our St. Louis office has “adopted” local children in need (as submitted by local organizations) by purchasing items like winter coats, school clothes and shoes, as well as a “fun” gift for them to open on Christmas morning. This year, we were able to adopt 24 local kids, providing 120 total presents. In total, over the course of 19 years, employees of Information Builders have adopted 367 children, making a positive impact in their communities.
We couldn’t be prouder to partner with these philanthropic organizations in assisting the homeless.  Want to help? Learn how you can assist these organizations in making a difference:
Wishing you and yours very happy holidays!
