Amazon Elastic MapReduce (EMR)
Query and Analyze your big data
Benefits of Amazon EMR
Amazon EMR is a managed cluster platform that makes it easier to run big data frameworks. It can process vast amounts of data quickly and cost-effectively at scale. It leverages open source frameworks/tools such as Spark, Hive, HBase, and Presto.

Using Amazon EMR With the Information Builders Data and Analytics Platform

To leverage Amazon Elastic MapReduce Information Builders enables access thru the Hadoop tools of choice: Apache Spark, Apache Hive, Apache HBase or thru a Presto RDBMS.
The Information Builders data and analytics platform provides adapters that facilitate access to Amazon EMR, including Presto and the Apache technologies Hive, Spark, Phoenix, and HBase.
The Apache adapters all enable access to structured and complex data managed by Hadoop. These adapters are JDBC-based. They convert data access requests into JDBC calls and returns optimized answer sets. In the case of Apache Phoenix, the adapter passes requests and returns data from HBase.
The Adapter for Presto functions similarly to an RDBMS adapter to handle SQL queries with Presto. It is also JDBC-based and converts application requests into JDBC calls and returns optimized answer sets. It allows the Presto distributed SQL query engine to exploit its own internal optimization techniques.
Amazon EMR provides one of many channels for WebFOCUS to cost-effectively complement the Amazon AWS platform. Information Builders provides secure easy access to Amazon EMR for data preparation, data quality, mastering, and extract, transform, and load (ETL) services.
