What's a Podcast?
The term "podcast" describes a collection of technologies that automatically distribute audio programs over the Internet via a publisher/subscriber model. From a technological perspective, a podcast is an RSS feed that contains audio files. The audio file itself is in MP3 format, which can be played back on virtually any audio player, including Windows Media Player, Apple's iPod or any other portable MP3 player. Despite the name, an iPod is not required to play a podcast.
