Not only does it comply with all your infrastructure's existing security procedures and protocols, it can also add additional layers of security to the reporting environment.

WebFOCUS allows users to access information securely from anywhere using preexisting, single sign-on capabilities. And, WebFOCUS offers security integration for both third-party and custom systems, including seamless integration with IBM/Tivoli Access Manager, Netegrity SiteMinder, and RSA ClearTrust as well as a security plug-in that provides built-in support for Active Directory, LDAP, WebFOCUS Reporting Server, and relational database systems.

WebFOCUS provides security and protection on many levels – system, application, database, and field-value:

• Application access security – within the WebFOCUS environment, administrators can manage and define user access according to user groups, departments, or roles
• Data access security – access to information can be restricted down to the data-value level so that WebFOCUS users will see only the information they need to see; this not only lets you protect sensitive information, but it allows you to streamline the reporting environment for many users and make reports easier and quicker to read
• External security – WebFOCUS fully supports external security systems and authentication schemes including operating system and database management security, as well as extended security packages such as LDAP, ADS, SecureWay, Entrust, and VeriSign

WebFOCUS provides a flexible security infrastructure that integrates and leverages existing sub-systems, including operating system, DBMS, and Web-level security. We also provide application-level security and support custom security implementations.
