Business Intelligence Content in Third-Party EIPs

WebFOCUS Open Portal Services enables organizations to extend WebFOCUS business intelligence capabilities to end users within an existing EIP framework. Users have the ability to:

- Decide what content appears in each section, how that content is displayed, and how it is organized, even combining graphics and reports on the same page

Features
The Open Portal Services component framework provides a set of WebFOCUS portal gadgets, portlets, or cells (depending on vendor terminology) that allows WebFOCUS to integrate quickly into third-party applications. These component pieces are built in a number of formats – such as ASP, JSP, Java™, JavaScript, and HTML/XML – so they can be easily ported, enhanced, and reused. Examples of some components include:
- "Select User Domain" allows an authenticated user to download a list of domains the individual has permission to view. Non-authenticated users can establish a guest account.
- "Select Report Name"allows the user to display a selected report within the EIP environment.
- "WebFOCUS Login"allows the user to enter the User Name and Password to load the initial WebFOCUS logon screen to authenticate the user.
- "Search"allows the user to locate specific information based on key words or phrases.
- "Deferred Status"allows the user to view the status of reports requested to run at a later time.
Users can select a report from the domain lists, run it, and direct the output.
