National Language Support (NLS) for Global Interoperability

NLS enables systems to process any local-language data by seamlessly reading and interpreting all national characters embedded in any source. Our proprietary NLS application programming interface (API) code-page architecture transcodes data between application client and server components and manages all sorting, case conversion, and formatting for dates, currency, and numbers.

The dynamic language switching capability of WebFOCUS lets users select their preferred language each time they enter WebFOCUS. Also, WebFOCUS remembers the last language they selected and presents it as a default at the start of each session. In National Language Versions, buttons and menu choices retain their relative positioning within the product interface with only the label text changing, so that administrators and multilingual users can easily transition between versions. All display components are localized, including:

Initial program installation
Menus, tool bars, dialog boxes, and forms
Program utilities (assistants, wizards, and editors)
Online help, including context-sensitive help
Error messages

WebFOCUS is designed for trouble-free translation and customization of its user interfaces into additional languages. This ease of use and support in any local language simplifies application deployment across countries.
