Information Builders Customer Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee Honored With Two Awards From IDG Enterprise
Healthcare Insurance Provider Recognized by Digital Edge 25 Awards and Computerworld Premier 100 Technology Leaders Awards
New York, NY, March 16, 2016
Information Builders, a leader in business intelligence (BI) and analytics, information integrity, and integration solutions, today announced that customer Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee (BlueCross) would receive two awards at the AGENDA16 Conference, produced by IDG Enterprise. BlueCross is being recognized by the Digital Edge 25 Awards for its Partner Quality Portal, which enables the organization to identify and close gaps in member care. In addition, the company’s senior vice president and chief data and engagement officer, Sherri L. Zink, is being honored with a 2016 Computerworld Premier 100 Technology Leaders Award.
BlueCross is the largest health insurance provider in the state, with approximately 3 million members. The organization needed an efficient way to identify non-compliant and at-risk members to close gaps in care. Under the leadership of Zink, BlueCross worked closely with Information Builders to create its Provider Quality Portal, which identifies members who aren’t getting the care they need based on their age, health conditions, and other factors.
The insurer also worked with Information Builders to develop the Custom 360 analytics platform, which provides actionable clinical and administrative information to key stakeholders. An important element of the implementation included mobile BI applications and clinician/provider dashboards that facilitate campaign transparency, such as Medicare dollars distributed and spending allocations.
Since implementation, BlueCross has closed more than 422,000 gaps in care and generated approximately $3 million in savings.
“Technology is disrupting every touchpoint for consumers in terms of how they interact with healthcare providers and receive care. This presents both great challenges and opportunities for healthcare organizations,” said Gerald Cohen, president and CEO of Information Builders. “Information Builders is proud to work with BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee and visionary leaders like Sherri Zink to improve data management processes, close gaps in care, and help ensure that all members receive the medical attention they need. We applaud BlueCross for its achievements in this area and Sherri Zink for her leadership role in the initiative.”
The Computerworld Premier 100 Technology Leaders Awards are among the most prestigious in the IT media industry. They honor 100 executives from technology and business for their exceptional leadership and innovative approaches to business and technology challenges. The Digital Edge 25 Awards recognize digital transformation initiatives that have driven significant and measurable business impact. Recipients of both awards will be recognized at the AGENDA16 Conference, March 21-23, 2016 at Amelia Island, Florida. Zink will be participating in an innovation panel at the event on March 23 from 10:45 to 11:15 a.m. titled, “This Big Data Means Big Dollars,” which will highlight initiatives driven by insights from large data sets.
