Partnership Yields Compaq Web Data Mart Suite


Compaq and Information Builders, Inc. have entered into a partnership agreement which enables Compaq sales reps, and its partners, to resell Information Builders WebFOCUS and SmartMart products. The Compaq offering is called Web Data Mart Suite – for OpenVMS, UNIX, and Windows NT (VAX, Alpha, and Intel).

Web Data Mart Suite provides all the tools needed to create Web-based self-service business applications in the form of an Intranet/ Extranet/Internet and offers the flexibility to build a Web-based or client/server data warehouse solution.

The proliferation of the Web has enabled businesses to deliver what it has been promising for years: easy access to information re-gardless of hardware platforms, database structures or application programs. With Web Data Mart Suite, users can now view corporate data in any standard Web browser, provide drill-down capability, automate report scheduling, bursting and distribution via the Web, e-Mail, or printers and more. The product also provides all the tools, technology, and services users need to build, manage and use either a Web-based or client/ server data mart. Included are tools for database modeling, data extraction, transformation and movement, reporting and analysis, Web access and administration.
