Wayne Eckerson is the director of TDWI Research. He is an industry analyst and educator who has covered data warehousing (DW) and BI since 1995. Wayne has led numerous in-depth research studies on various facets of DW/BI, including data quality, data governance, operational BI, pervasive BI, data integration, and advanced analytics and visualization. He is a noted speaker, consultant, and blogger, and he is the author of the best-selling book Performance Dashboards: Measuring, Monitoring, and Managing Your Business. He also created TDWI's BI Maturity Model and Assessment, which helps organizations benchmark the progress of their BI initiatives, and he chairs TDWI's BI Executive Summit, which helps business and technical executives network with each other and stay abreast of changes and advances in the DW/BI industry.

Bill Hostmann, Research Vice President and Analyst, Gartner Research
Bill Hostmann is a research vice president and distinguished analyst for Gartner Research, where he focuses on business intelligence. Mr. Hostmann has worked for more than 15 years in the enterprise software market. He has held the position of product line general manager for Informix Database and Internet Server product lines. He previously served as director of Marketing at GemStone Systems, an early Java application server company, where he was involved in the writing of the original Java EJB 1.0 specification. And, most recently, he was at Informatica Corporation.

Cindi Howson, Founder, BIScorecard
Cindi Howson is the founder of BIScorecard, a resource for in-depth BI product reviews, based on exclusive hands-on testing. She has been advising clients on BI tool strategies and selections for 15 years. She is the author of Successful Business Intelligence: Secrets to Making BI a Killer App. Prior to founding BIScorecard, Howson was a manager at Deloitte & Touche and a BI standards leader for a Fortune 500 company. She is a TDWI (The Data Warehousing Institute) faculty member and writes for Intelligent Enterprise and the BeyeNETWORK.

Mark Smith, CEO and Executive Vice President of Research, Ventana Research
Mark Smith is responsible for the overall direction of Ventana Research and drives the global research agenda covering both business and technology areas. He defined the blueprint for information management and performance management as the linking together of people, processes, information, and technology across organizations to drive effective results. Mark is an expert in technology for business from performance management, business intelligence (BI), and analytics to information management across finance, operations, and IT. As an industry veteran with more than 22 years of experience, Mark worked at companies including SAP, META Group, Oracle, and IRI Software before founding Ventana Research. He has experience across major industries including banking, consumer products, food and beverage, insurance, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, and retail and consumer services.

Dan Vesset, Program Vice President of Business Analytics, International Data Corporation (IDC)
Dan Vesset's research is currently focused on the BI and analytic applications markets. He served as the lead analyst for the IDC study on best practices in pervasive BI. His current research is on trends leading to wider and more effective use of business intelligence, data warehousing, and analytic applications. Dan has authored numerous research publications on business intelligence and analytics and has been published and quoted in business and trade publications. He is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and seminars worldwide and has more than 15 years of experience as a user, implementer, and analyst of BI and analytics solutions. Prior to joining IDC in 2000, he served as a consultant in the Enterprise Applications practice of Deloitte Consulting. He also worked as a systems analyst in the financial services industry, including State Street Bank & Trust.
