Heads were spinning, hearts were racing, and minds were blown – and that was just during the WebFOCUS InfoDiscovery labs – never mind the wild rides at Universal Studios theme park at our off-site Summit adventure.

It’s been a fantastic week with our customers and partners here in Orlando and we’re all a bit sad to see it end.  But it’s ending on a high note with everyone going back to the office with new ideas and new friends.

A big part of Summit is helping people know the right questions to ask – and at the annual Ask Gerry session there were lots of great questions and as always a few humorous moments. For instance, we learned that Gerry is still using the clock radio that he won in a Summit raffle years ago. We also learned that he never “went left when he should have gone right,” he believes big data will soon be just “data” and App Studio offers a lot of game-changing benefits for our customers.

We’ve talked to a lot of folks this week who are excited to get their hands on InfoDiscovery for data visualizations to help blend and explore different kinds of data. Other hot topics were data profiling and data quality, security, social media analytics, and big data analytics. There was a lot of interest in design best practices for web and mobile with everyone keen to make the most beautiful dashboards for the greatest ease of use.  We saw some terrific examples of great-looking dashboards and InfoApps during customer sessions such as Ford Motor Company, Yellow Pages Group Canada, BlueCross BlueShield Tennessee, Sparta Systems, Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores, Wendy’s International, and many more.

Summit is Summit because of all of you.  We sincerely appreciate your participation, feedback and input.
