In today’s world, data is everywhere. It affects everything from stocking decisions at your local supermarket, to student records at your university, to how your local police force keeps your community safe. Whether we’re aware of it or not, our lives are impacted by data every single day.

With this in mind, Information Builders is excited to announce our latest contest: #CaptionThis. We’ve sketched up a series of cartoons depicting different data scenarios across a range of areas, and we’re asking you to help fill in the captions. We’ll be posting these cartoons across our social channels starting today, with a new cartoon going up each Monday for the coming five weeks. We’re asking you to suggest captions for them and share your ideas via Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook or Instagram. This is a chance to flex your creative muscle – the most imaginative caption will be chosen at each week’s end and the winner will receive a $25 Amazon gift card (or equal amount for non-US winners). Winners will be notified via direct messages and prices will be sent out soon after.

In order to qualify, you must use the #CaptionThis and #IB3I hashtags in your captions. Employees of Information Builders are welcome to share their caption ideas, but only external participants are eligible to win, and you can’t win twice. At the end of the contest we’ll post an album with all the suggested captions, so you can check out the other submissions. We’ll also include our suggested captions – we want to get in on the fun too!

Below, in the image gallery, you'll find our current CaptionThis picture as well as details of the past winners. To enter, see the links below the gallery to Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram.

We’re excited to hear your thoughts over the next five weeks! If you haven’t already, follow us on Twitter at @infobldrs, find us on Instagram and check out our page on Facebook to get started. We can’t wait to hear from you!
