Information Builders Wins Two Technology Innovation Awards From Dresner Advisory Services
Great news! Information Builders has won two awards in Dresner Advisory Service's first Technical Innovation Awards: Embedded Business Intelligence and Cloud Business Intelligence.
Dresner Advisory Services, you may recall, is the firm started by Howard Dresner, regarded by many as the "father of business intelligence". His Wisdom of Crowds survey derives insights from a wide array of practitioners. I've blogged about some of those insights here, and you can download the report here. This award, then, draws from a deep knowledge of the industry and the voices of practitioners.
We're very pleased about the Embedded BI award, because so many of our customers embed our WebFOCUS BI and analytics platform in their own applications - and yet, in these cases people are least likely to know that we're doing the BI work. Published success stories for embedded BI include Plex Systems, Jobs2Web, Marvin Poer, and nVision, but that represents only a small fraction of our clients who embed BI. Google knows there are many more, and more than you'll find on our website.
If embedded BI is interesting to you, download a copy of Dresner's Embedded BI survey.
The Cloud Computing + Business Intelligence award comes from our ability to provide "the technology, tools, and solutions that employ one or more cloud deployment models including private cloud, public cloud, and hybrid cloud." One of the interesting things to note here is that, although we offer BI in the cloud, many organizations really want the flexibility of providing BI through their own providers, so their BI can be co-located with their other cloud-based applications. Avoiding extra hops, additional flexibility, being able to control their own security more effectively - all of those things have come to mean a lot in the cloud BI space.
Along with our awards for customer service, these are some of the things we're proudest of.
