This week, customer Ace Hardware came out to the Gartner BI and Analytics Summit in Grapevine, Texas to share its self-service analytics success story with attendees. Tim Brynda, the company's software engineering consultant, discussed how Ace was able to bring self-service analytics to the masses with the help of Information Builders technologies.
 
 
The Ace analytics environment currently serves more than 15,000 staff members, empowering them with accurate information that allows them to monitor vendor performance, improve merchandising programs, and more. Mr. Brynda talked about the various user communities within Ace - including executives, field staff, retailers, and vendors - who rely on self-service analytics for everything from monitoring inventory movement and analyzing retail performance, to measuring the success of promotions and sales.
 
Stressing how a one-size-fits-all approach isn't the ideal way to satisfy the unique information needs of everyone, he highlighted the different types of analytic content available through Ace's self-service environment, such as custom and guided ad hoc reports. He then took the time to show off a great mobile self-service app, designed to help retailers increase B2B sales of its fast-moving LED products.
