Ventana Research Leadership Award Information Builders and the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning (CMAP) received the 2011 Ventana Research Leadership Award. CMAP, a regional planning organization for seven counties and 284 communities in northeastern Illinois, used the WebFOCUS BI platform to develop MetroPulse, an online portal. MetroPulse enables government agencies and other entities to research and share information about the myriad factors impacting residents’ quality of life, including crime, economic development, transportation, housing, and safety. |

This insight enables the city to knowledgeably optimize police resources to deter crime. As a result, crime was decreased by 49 percent and citizens made fewer 911 calls. |
